How has Covid-19 and Coronavirus impacted on mental health and what can be done about it?

Anxiety has been activated in millions of people predisposed to suffering from anxiety

The REAL pandemic is the enormous level of anxiety related suffering that has been activated by the use of fear to control infection rates

So, how has this happened and why is it important to you?

Since March 2020, the world has been confronted with a global campaign of fear-producing media around Covid-19 and Coronavirus. The campaign has used social media, media and our human hunger for social interaction, to spread fear and bring about compliance to rules, especially those around mask wearing and hand sanitising.

Fear is the most powerful motivator, from sales tactic to hostage taking, fear will force people to make tough decisions, give up their money and go against all of their principles to preserve safety. Fear can make most people do anything asked of them.

But, increasing fear is, for many people, a transient experience. Fear will rise and fall without any long term consequences, but for those who were born with the predisposition to developing anxiety, fear will not return to normal levels.

For those people, fear does not normalise and instead, becomes a constant experience in their lives.

At this point an anxiety condition has formed.

During lockdown, many millions of people who were predisposed to developing these conditions, were activated and whilst, at first, they believed their fear was appropriate to their experiences with Covid-19, when lockdown was temporarily lifted, they found that their fear levels did not and quickly began to realise that they had developed obsessions and phobias.

So, what does this mean to you?

As you have probably seen, the medical world is scrambling to find a treatment process for the tens of millions of now suffer.

They believe that psychology and psychiatry will solve the problem. They think that what has failed before will now, magically, start to work. Millions of previous sufferers will tell you that it won't, but because those provisions can't work, they are in for a long journey to nowhere.

In a survey in 2019, we asked patients a number of questions to assess their previous experiences with treatments received from private and public services. Here are the highlights of the data received from over 400 people:

  • Talking therapy produced zero recovery outcomes in all people.
  • Medication was reported to have had no positive impact and over 70% reported unpleasant side effects.
  • Hypnotherapy had zero impact on anxiety levels.
  • EFT (tapping) had zero effect on anxiety levels.
  • EMDR had zero effect on anxiety levels but many stated that it had made them panic during the treatment.
  • Exposure therapy reported an overall increase in anxiety of 47%.
  • Relaxation techniques had zero effect on anxiety levels.
  • Psychiatric consultancy had an overall negative impact of anxiety levels. 17 people reported feeling verbally abused by the doctor.

So what does this tell us?

Firstly it speaks to the fact that none of the mentioned treatment modalities address the core condition and none have been vaguely effective at reducing anxiety levels in any of the patients asked. This is only due to lack of associated science and knowledge.

It also tells us that in order to provide a treatment, that treatment must provide science based solutions which use the science of the disorder.

The problem has always been that all practice used to address anxiety conditions has been provided through psychology and psychology is a theoretical branch of academia, NOT a branch of science based practice.

Psychology believes that thoughts control emotional responses, which is simply not true. Thoughts are one result of emotional response but they are not the activator of emotional response.

Anxiety conditions are systemic disorders. They are rather like unfitness in that they are the disordered version of a human preset, in this case 'fitness'.

Anxiety conditions are not caused by mental illness, chemical imbalance or frailty, they are activated by inappropriate hormonal response, of which psychology and psychiatry have no knowledge; which is why their attempts at treating them fail.

It's rather like asking a dentist to operate on a heart... they have no relevant knowledge despite having knowledge within their own practices.

Where does that leave you?

It can only leave you in a situation in which the only solution will be found in actual science; in the true and undeniable science of emotional control.

It's a highly advantageous situation to be in because what it means in practical terms is that you have now found the final solution.

Yes, you may have tried all those things that couldn't work but at least now you have been led to science, to common sense... to recovery!

Psychologist MSc. MA BPS - Linden Tree Head of Training & Education
As a psychologist working in practice, I am compelled by the thousands of recoveries we produce at TLM and the Retreats. Recovery isn't a word often used in psychology or psychiatry, because most patients don't get to experience the recovery they hoped for. I have been at Linden Tree since 2002 and the word recovery is used daily, because we produce recovery and in great numbers. We all adore what we do because what we do works more effectively than anything else available.
